The Ivar System concept was conceived in 1998 by Ian Ivarson while he was a high school junior student. Ian realized that all backpacks worked the same way: load your stuff in and it all falls to the bottom of the pack with no organization and all the weight on your lower back. As the solution, Ian developed a main-compartment soft foam and nylon shelf design to create optimal weight distribution, stability, access, and superior comfort. Following graduation from college, Ian launched the first Ivar Backpack in June 2006, and has maintained an uncompromising commitment to innovation and quality.
